With an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of steel structures, and holding over 500 technology patents, Hubei Honglu Steel Structure Co., Ltd. has risen as the “steel giant” in Central China. Located in Tuanfeng County, Huanggang City, it is now the largest steel structure manufacturing enterprise in the region, serving more than 5,000 landmark projects worldwide.

On April 10, stepping into Honglu’s intelligent manufacturing plant feels like entering Iron Man’s high-tech lab. Laser cutting, automatic assembly, intelligent welding, and CNC straightening are seamlessly integrated, with precision errors controlled within 0.5mm. Equipped with an AI vision monitoring system, production processes are tracked in real-time. Under workers’ guidance, three welding robots maneuver their robotic arms to automatically locate and precisely weld steel components, with sparks flying.

The company focuses on intelligent transformation and upgrading, driving the industry from low-end to high-end development. At present, Honglu’s Tuanfeng base has deployed nearly 300 robotic welding workstations, upgraded more than 70 laser intelligent cutting machines, and introduced a wide range of automated, digital, and green manufacturing equipment. This leap from “manufacturing” to “smart manufacturing” is further reinforced by the company’s plan to invest 200 million RMB in R&D, secure over 80 new patents by the end of 2025, and expand its total intellectual property portfolio to over 600 patents.

Over the past decade, Honglu Steel Structure has built a diverse product system, covering light steel, high-rise building structures, bridges, and more, becoming an industry leader. In 2022, the company partnered with the Tuanfeng County Government to invest 2 billion RMB in constructing a Green Intelligent Assembly Base, adding 15 new production lines with an annual capacity of 380,000 tons of prefabricated building components, further advancing the industry toward intelligent and green development.

By 2024, Honglu’s Tuanfeng base achieved sales revenue of 7.13 billion RMB, contributed 1.8 billion RMB in taxes, and realized an industrial output value of 5.06 billion RMB, while creating jobs for over 4,500 people.
