The main structural form is a concrete frame structure, with some large spaces made of steel structure, and a box type large-span frame, setting a record in Asia. The steel structure production is about 24000 tons.
The total construction area is approximately 162100 square meters, and the construction includes a cultural exchange center, supporting conference center, and hotel. The design concept of the appearance is “the eaves of the Central Plains”, which will create Zhengzhou’s “eyes” facing the international world. After completion, this project will become an important part of the Zhengzhou Central Cultural District (CCD) function, filling the gap in the exhibition center venues in the western district of Zhengzhou and helping Zhengzhou accelerate the construction of a national central city.
The main structural form is a concrete frame structure, with some large spaces made of steel structure, and a box type large-span frame, setting a record in Asia. The steel structure production is about 24000 tons.
The Zhengzhou Central Cultural District Cultural Exchange Center and Supporting Project (Phase I) is a medium-sized exhibition center with a planned total construction area of approximately 73000 square meters, including approximately 46000 square meters above ground and 27000 square meters underground, with a net exhibition area of approximately 30000 square meters. The architectural plan is rectangular, with a maximum total size of approximately 216m in the east-west direction and approximately 135m in the north-south direction. A basement is set up in a local location. The roof design is complex, with stacked roofs in a south low and north high slope shape, and there is a vertical height difference between the three roofs.
According to the architectural design and the spatial requirements for large-span heavy loads, the main structure above ground level in this project adopts a steel frame+BRB structure. Equipment interlayers are set up around the exhibition hall, using steel beam floor structures. By setting buckling restrained braces (BRBs), the structural vibration characteristics under small and medium earthquakes are improved, and the overall torsional effect of the structure is reduced; Improve the seismic performance of structures under major earthquakes. The roof span of the exhibition hall on plot 7 is 60m; The second floor of plot 8 has a span of 24m and the roof has a span of 45m; The login hall above the pipe gallery between plots 7 and 8 has a floor and roof span of 40.5m; The above-mentioned large-span areas are all in the form of planar trusses.
For the curved curtain wall on the north side, the idea of integrating the main structure with the curtain wall was adopted, and a design method combining standardized structural design and spatial grid structure was adopted, which effectively interpreted the design intention of the “Eye of Central Plains”. In response to the design difficulties of crossing the existing underground municipal pipe gallery in this project, a pile foundation with minimal impact on the municipal pipe gallery was adopted as the foundation. The first floor login hall adopted a prefabricated assembly structure design scheme to cross the municipal pipe gallery, and the second floor and roof layer adopted a large-span steel truss structure for implementation.
The cultural exchange center is a medium-sized exhibition center with a total construction area of approximately 73000 square meters. The building height is controlled within 24 meters, with two floors above ground and a two-story height at the rear. The exterior design concept is “Central Plains eaves”, which will create Zhengzhou’s “eyes” facing the international world and open the “curtain” of the future era. Zhengzhou continues the traditional culture of “eaves”. The net exhibition area is about 30000 square meters, including a single story column free large exhibition hall of about 6300 square meters, a column free exhibition hall and conference hall on the first floor of about 8600 square meters, a column free multifunctional exhibition hall on the second floor of about 8800 square meters, and a public hall that also serves as a multifunctional exhibition hall of about 8400 square meters. The completion of the project will serve the economic and trade activities, investment promotion activities, and government affairs of Zhengzhou city. In the future, it can host various small and medium-sized exhibitions such as green, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon themes, high-tech promotion activities, artificial intelligence exhibitions and displays, consumer goods, medical and health care, elderly care, luxury goods, cultural and artistic events, and enterprise promotion.
